About Marie Escher-Lude
"My work is part of a personal research mainly at the level of oil, watercolor, engraving techniques, but also mixed techniques. I am strongly inspired by the geographical environment that surrounds me in its formal aspects, but also in the notion of space with its three-dimensional components. The element of light, linked to color, plays a capital role; the color that I work with glazes where one finds transparency both in watercolors and oils and mixed techniques."
"Other research themes: man in situation, sometimes simple objects from my environment. I move from one theme to another without apprehension, because for me pictorial expression is more important than the subject which becomes a pretext for painting. My approach is figurative, but a largely interpreted and refined figuration; I seek more an atmosphere than a description. The subject is transcribed through the suggested emotion."
