About Renée-Paule Danthine

Renée-Paule Danthine was born in Belgium. She studied Fine Arts in Brussels at the "Le Septante-Cinq" institute, particularly painting, engraving and screen printing, and obtained a Master of Fine Arts at Columbia University in New York. She has been established in the Lausanne region since 1982, and has exhibited in the United States, Belgium, Sweden and Switzerland.

Her contacts with artist Ansei Ushima, whose assistant she was in New York, awakened her love of paper. Paper, sometimes printed, is painted, glued or marouflaged on canvas. It gives the works of Renée-Paule Danthine a serene and sensual poetry. The collages on Japanese paper in this exhibition, fruit of her latest research, transport us with lightness into a universe of soft colored lights.

Philatelic miniatures constitute another facet of my work. Greedy for epistolary exchange and passionate about beautiful stamps from around the world, I have since the early 80s, painted small format watercolors, each inspired by a postage stamp which is the starting point and dictates the atmosphere.

The following works by Renée-Paule Danthine are available. Do not hesitate to contact the gallery if you wish to see them in person.
