About Pascal Lemoine

After two years of training at the European Center for Research and Training in Glass Arts, a European apprenticeship would take him to Frome in England in Neil Wilkin's workshop (internationally renowned glass artist) and to Varberg in Sweden, in Katarina Löfstrom's workshop. Back in France after almost two years, Pascal Lemoine continued his training in about fifteen workshops, exchanging his work for the use of these workshops.

Curious objects, Pascal's: duality between transparency and opacity, light and dark colors, full and empty, open and closed, exterior and interior. The creation process that allows the transformation of raw material into object goes through thermal and mechanical treatments, fusion, tempering, annealing, enameling, sandblasting. These treatments that the material undergoes lead to a set of signs, which tell the story of the object from the origin of its creation, and which can be deciphered through the light that passes through it.

"I often evoke transformation, metamorphosis when it comes to defining my work. This certainly stems from the fact that in transforming the material, man sees himself transformed by this very material." (Bachelard)

To seek in the heat the movement, the exact moment to press a form onto an emotion in direct connection with the material. Then through cooling, let things freeze. Listen to the silence of this fire which, losing its radiance, reveals its brilliance. Blown glass enameled and porcelain slip when hot, then engraved cold by sandblasting, chipping with chisel.
